Penguin

Supposed to be beautiful summer time here right now, yet it's raining and cold and miserable, and I've been sick as can be with the flu all week and pretty much sick of myself, can't stop thinking about damn penguins!!!!!  So here's a lil fellow I made, feel free to grab the SVG file HERE for the lil guy.  Don't forget to grab your white gel pen and add some lil peepers for the spunky lil fella!

Ballerina Girl

So in helping a friend out with creating a Ballerina Mouse (as a bit of a challenge), I figured after making the Mouse one it wouldn't be so hard to convert it into a Girl lol just whip off my mouse head & tail and create (hopefully) what looks like a girl's head lol.

Here is a pic of the finished file.....

Okay, so there is the pic of the one I cut out and pieced together this afternoon, not thoroughly excited about it (never was excited about ballet), but oh well....I had a go :) lol

Now here is the SVG FILE for those who want to have a go....she is a big piecing...measures about 9" from tip of her crown to her toes, don't forget you can move the arms or legs into different positions, or resize to make her smaller or whatever takes your fancy ...ENJOY :)

Another Border....just a simple one

Having a bit of fun playing about with Make The Cut, trying to get my head around all the updates and exciting things that have been added into this wonderful program.  Played with some basic shapes ...AGAIN!!! and made this border, DOWNLOAD HERE I kind of liked it, so kept it, thought I would share in case some one else would like to use it. It's not terribly exciting I know, but hey...you gotta start somewhere lol lol

Cheers Kris xo

Easy Print & Cut with MTC and the Black Cat Cougar using the KNK Plugin!!!

Finally all of this Print & Cut stuff has finally done my head in...I bit the bullet this evening, and decided it was time to fight back and get this son of a gun to work to MY satisfaction....it has taken me quite a few hours to get all of the information from various sources...such as the Black Cat Forum and the MTC Forums, and trial and error and converting such overwhelming information into something that more resembles IDIOT Language...something I DO UNDERSTAND!!!! (sorry it's late here & brain is numb lol)

Okay I started out by getting into the Black Cat forum and working through the Manual Calibration of the Blackcat Laser using Signcut....(have I mentioned how terrified I am of Signcut!!!!) Okay so I've gotten that done, found my X and Y figures that work for MY MACHINE, yours may very well be quite different.

Anyhoo I got a perfect cut on the template for Signcut using these settings for MY machine...

X = (-18.5)
Y = (26)

Done & done! Next....

Into MTC (having already downloaded the KNK plugin with the 3pt registration) <---- Oh how I LOVE LOVE LOVE this.

Here is a screenshot of how I had my P&C set up on MTC (Ps...just click on the Photos to enlarge)

onto the setting for KNK....

I've told it to cut with KNK Maxx, this is when things got crazy for me for a bit, majority of folk have said you HAVE to reverse the negative & positive numbers....so based on that I should have had to set my settings as this in KNK

X = (18.5)   &   Y = (-26)

This is about when all hell broke loose in my craft room and one said Cougar and one said Laptop almost got hurled straight through my window...but alas...fortunately I remembered seeing one brave soul having said on the MTC forum that they found this to be untrue for THEIR particular setup, and actually were very brave and tried leaving their settings the same as their Signcut settings, so I thought, hey, why not? May as well give this a go before tossing the equipment out the window, so with that said I have changed my KNK plugin settings back to the same as I had originally used with Signcut

X = (-18.5)
Y = (26)

Well Hey Presto!!! (Okay time to insert a pic of my mat layout ...sorry for crappy pic but hey I'm not much of a drawer or artist lol...but here goes)
So basically

...picture my COUGAR sitting right --> HERE!!

Okay, so I have set up my mat (after many failed attempts earlier) like this  Turn the laser alignment ON (you should know how to do that) and set it in a spot like where I have in the above pic.  Bottom Right of the pic!

So the first Registration Mark that shows on my screen as being top left of MTC screen is now Top Right on my mat (see other big fat dot there)  I then simply followed the instructions on screen to set the 3 registration marks ...gotta say after setting the first one, the other 2 were pretty much in perfect alignment, at this stage and at this time of the night (almost midnight now) I no longer give a flying you know what, so I accepted it all and hit OK and bam it cut out the bestest (is that even a word?)  Print and Cut I've ever done, it was what I would say 99.9% perfect!  I seriously could not ask for anything more than this.

Okay, so here is my result :) yay

So anyhooo, I am sorry for my ramblings, but you can't expect much more from me when I'm exhausted hehehe but seriously, I hope this information and the pictures of how my MTC is set up versus how I've set up on my mat, and loaded to the machine can help someone else who is desperately trying to improve their Print and Cut and not making headway with the overwhelming information that seems to be out there, just not in the right context for some of us who need to see pictures!!!!

Cheers peeps, outta here for some serious zzzzzzzzz's Goodnite xo

Some cool SVG Borders for your scrapbooking/cardmaking

So I have been playing about with some basic shapes and tools for the last couple of days...boredom struck again lol, anyhooo managed to come up with some borders to share, hope someone can find something constructive to do with these.

Since I totally suck at Inkscape, I stuck to what I can actually fathom, Make The Cut, so basically as I'm a scrapbooker and I scrapbook on my base piece of card/paper measuring 30cm x 30cm (not 12 x 12) my borders if you import at actual size will be 30cm wide/long or whatever you want to call it, feel free to mess about, manipulate them as much as you need or want to do, sing out if you do something cool and creative with them, I would love to see.

Okay, here are the links for each one...

Print & Cut with MTC and Black Cat Cougar....

Wowzer...been a super dooper long day here today, trying to suss out the laser calibration to get my Print & Cut feature working with Make The Cut and Black Cat Cougar.

Finally tonight I have success!!  Wouldn't call it 100% perfect but it's mighty damn close.  After searching forums and blogs and youtube for hours today to find just the right bit of information to sort this mess...in pure defeat and with a can of rum in one hand...GOOGLE SEARCH TO THE RESCUE lol

With this totally awesome find.....
Sheri from My Card Spot had this fabulous TUTORIAL (with pics) thank goodness.... she is now my new Goddess...well for today anyhoo. Finally pictures showing me which way was X and which way was Y and a starting point to finding the right numbers for me...my numbers X -18.5 and Y 26  achieving almost perfect results...had just the tiniest bit of white showing around the bottom of my cut (will post a pic tomorrow when I have some daylight)  Graphic by Lettering Delights (Weather Kids)

So to Sheri....THANKYOU for sharing this awesome information, and I hope that many others who are having issues with this will also be lucky enough to find your post!  You have made my day and my purchase of the Cat just that little bit more exciting....now to find some chipboard that will cut with the machine in Australia!!!  Our chippie is like rock apparently lol lol
